Mohsin Ali Khan

Early Life

Born on 15 Oct 1985, Mohsin Ali Khan is one the leading exponents of Kirana Gharana. He Graduated from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. He was born into a family with music tradition which traced its roots to Ustad Abdul Karim Khan & Ustad Bahara Waheed Khan the founders of Kirana Gharana Gayaki. Mohsin was groomed by his father, a renowned Sarod Player Ustad Abdul Sami Khan since the age of five. Knowing Mohsin's control on Swara in his early age, his father advised him to take lessons from his Uncle Ustad Amir Ahmad Khan. Soon, he mastered uniqueness of Kirana Gharana.

Gayaki

Mohsin has god gifted versatile voice which is apt for Khayal Gayaki as well as Ghazal. He has great grip over improvisation or "Badhat” in Kirana style in accordance with the mood of Raaga.

Career

Mohsin Ali Khan has undertaken a project with Kathak Kendra, New Delhi and is also an established performing artist. He performed vocal recital at various concerts in India and overseas.

Recent achievements

Mohsin Ali Khan has recorded a fusion music CD named as "My Indian Heart" under the direction of well-known Spanish Music Director - Luis Cobo. This CD has been appreciated by many music experts.

Future Endeavors

With a view to spread Hindustani Vocal Music, he established "Kirana Gharana Music School" in 2013. Over there, he teaches classical and semi classical music to students from India and abroad. He has organized programs for many upcoming artists including his own students. He is planning to spread Kirana Gharana Gayaki through his performances and disciples all over the world.
